A completely natural, plastic-free cleaning pad made from layers of loofah stitched together in a hand-sized pad with a cotton string loop.
Loofah is a plant-based fibre, made from the fruit of the gourd family which has been left to dry naturally on the vine. In the kitchen, it makes a great abrasive sponge for removing stubborn food particles from dishes and counter tops. Loofah is also gentle enough to use on delicate items like coated cookware, as well as chopping boards, sinks, tiles and taps.
It can also be used in the bathroom and is ideal for exfoliating the skin before bathing, gently removing the surface layer of skin when used as a dry brush, leaving the skin smooth and conditioned.
Being a natural fibre, the loofah will collect bacteria if it is not rinsed thoroughly and allowed to dry out after use. It can be gently washed by hand or even in the machine if required.
- Plastic free cleaning
- Natural plant fibre
- 100% biodegradable
Each pad measures approximately 10cm x 10cm, with slight variances due to the nature of the plant fibre. When immersed in water the pad expands and becomes a spongy, flexible yet robust pad that will not scratch. It will last for months with normal use and when worn out can be composted.
