This is a wonderful set of antique French shank buttons in their original 1900's Paris shop packaging, which is yellowed and worn through age. The ancient folded paper reads "Les Boutons J.P. sont les seuls dont les queues soient solides et le vernis inaltérable" which translates as "JP Buttons are the only ones whose tails are strong with an unalterable varnish". Despite this, all of the buttons have cracked slightly with age. There is also a little rust on most of the button shanks, adding to their aged charm. Use them to give your sewing project a unique appearance, or keep the whole piece intact for a pretty display; the faded paper is in itself a beautifully timeworn piece. Each button measures just over ¼" (8mm) in diameter and ⅜" (9mm) from front to back. Opened out flat the whole paper packaging measures 4½ x 7" (just under 12cm x 18cm) More vintage buttons can be found here: https://etsy.me/2DDJCSj And you can return to the main shop here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/LaCorbeille SHIPPING: All items ship worldwide from France.
