These gorgeous wicker carpet beaters were found in a local vide-grenier in Normandy, and are likely to date from the 1950's.
I have postcards of French housewives of that era leaning over their balconies, thumping out the rugs!
A perfect accent for today's modern minimalist aesthetic, and useful too.
Please note that this listing is for ONE carpet beater only, pictured on the left in the photos: it is entirely made from wicker and has a simple string loop for hanging on the wall.
The carpet beater measures 28" (73cm) in length and has a distinct curve to the handle, having slightly warped with age.
