This is a great little kit for on-the-go mending!
Contrary to what is written on this old and rusted tin, this mending kit is useless for repairing tyres: inside is a little collection of lace, buttons and snap fasteners to inspire you to get creative with mending your clothes...
This lovely old tin was originally a puncture repair kit by "John Bull", made by the John Bull Rubber Co. Ltd., in Evington, Leicester in England.
The trademarked image in the centre shows a man gesticulating, proudly wearing a Union Jack shirt and a bowler hat. Encircled around this image is the phrase, "made for the man who will have the best". On the inside of this lid are printed detailed instructions for repairing puncture.
Instead of the original contents, you will receive the following:
• a vintage Cartier Bresson plastic thread bobbin, re-wound with a length of salvaged synthetic thread in a rich, bottle green
• press studs: invaluable for closing ill-fitting shirt fronts. There are three included here.
